Within two weeks my client will visit one new interesting place every day. The plan of two-week tour of Great Britain for my client:
Day 1. Oxford. This university town is very beautiful. The oldest university there is Oxford. Oxford is, of course, famous for its first-class education as well as its beautiful buildings. Oxford has same of the finest architecture in Britain. Some of their colleges, chapels and libraries are there, four and even five hundred years old, and are full off books and precious paintings. You can see there many lovely gardens, where the students can read and relax in the summer months.
Day 2. Cambridge. Cambridge is a university town in England which lies 80 kilometers north of London on the River Cam. It is ranked one of the best and prestigious institutions of higher learning in the world. It is also the second oldest university in the English-speaking world. The university houses 114 libraries with over 8 million volumes. It also contains eight arts, cultural and scientific museums, and a botanic garden. Among them, the Museum of Zoology, the Museum of Classical Archeology, the Museum of the History of Science, the Polar Museum. By the way, many important scientific discoveries were made by Cambridge graduates, such Isaac Newton, James Maxwell, Francis Bacon, Charles Darwin and others.
Day 3.Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch in London, England. The Palace is a setting for state occasions and royal entertaining, a base for many officially visiting Heads of State, and a major tourist attraction. It has been a rallying point for the British people at times of national rejoicing, crisis or grief.
Day 4.WESTMINSTER ABBEY. Westminster Abbey is a Gothic building, which is situated opposite the Houses of Parliament. It is a great work of many people of different centuries. The Abbey is sometimes compared with a Mausoleum, because there are tombs and memorials of almost all English monarchs, many statesmen, famous scientists, writers and musicians. For example, Geoffrey Chaucer, Samuel Johnson, Charles Dickens, Alfred Tennyson, Thomas Hardy and Rudyard Kipling are buried there. Westminster Abbey also contains memorials to William Shakespeare, Walter Scott, Robert Burns, George Byron and some other writers.
Day 5. The Tower of London. The Tower of London is one of the most famous and most interesting places in the city. The Tower was once a palace, a fortress, a prison and even a Zoo. Today it is known as a historical museum.
Despite being called “The Tower of London”, the place consists of 20 towers. The White Tower is the oldest of them.
Day 6. Big Ben. Big Ben is the biggest clock in the world. Big Ben is one of London's best-known landmarks, and looks most spectacular at night when the clock faces are illuminated. Big Ben is an excellent timekeeper, which has rarely stopped.
Day 7. Stonehenge. One of the most thrilling sights is the Stonehenge. It’s an ancient monument made of stones standing either in circle or in a horseshoe shape. The origin and the meaning of these stones remains a mystery. However, the scientists think that it was used as a prehistoric calendar.
Day 8. Madam Tussaud's Museum. Madam Tussaud's Museum is an exhibition of hundreds of life-size wax models of famous people of yesterday and today. The collection was started by Madam Tussaud, a French modeller in wax, in the 18th century. Here you can meet Marilyn Monroe, Elton John, Picasso, the Royal Family, the Beatles and many others: writers, movie stars, singers, politicians, sportsmen, etc.
Day 9. The British Museum. The British Museum is the largest and richest museum in the world. It was founded in 1753 and contains one of the world's richest collections of antiquities. The Egyptian Galleries contain human and animal mummies. Some parts of Athens' Parthenon are in the Greek section.
Day 10. ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL. This is the third cathedral with this name which London has had.The inside of the cathedral is very beautiful. After looking around, you can climb 263 steps to the Whispering Gallery, above the library, which runs round the dome. It is called this because if someone whispers close to the wall on one side, a person with an ear close to the wall on the other side can hear what is said. Then, if you climb another 118 steps, you will be able to stand outside the dome and look over London.
Day 11-12. Canterbury. Canterbury is an ancient city with a majestic cathedral. Cloister Garden in Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury in Kent of England. It is one of the most famous cathedrals in England.
Day 13-14. Liverpool is second largest port in GB. It is famous for industry, football, horses and Beatles. Liver was a magic bird and it is a symbol of Liverpool. It is called the city of the Beatles. There is the Beatles museum and the Beatles club. (Everything is made for tourists.) Beatles Story- you can go through whole history of Beatles, you listen to their songs and learn about their lives. There is very old Liverpool Cathedral. Liverpool Cathedral is the largest cathedral in Britain. The other big cities here are Leeds, Sheffield and York.
