It is not a secret that every nation and every country has its own customs and traditions. In weles people attach great importance to traditions and customs. Welsh are proud of their traditions and carefully keep them up. There are many great traditions of Wales.
Like most other parts of Britain, Wales has its own Christmas and New Year traditions, that have now died out - which is something of a shame because they are fascinating examples of social history. The old Welsh custom of plygain has now totally died out. It was an early service in church, sometimes beginning as early as three in the morning. At this service men would sing Christmas carols for three or four hours. Now there are few traditions that have survived. Time, of course, changes everything and many of the old customs were politically very incorrect. But they remain an important part of our history.
